John Bettis

President / Owner

John Bettis III serves as President and Owner of M&A Resources. In this role, Mr. Bettis is responsible for new business development, operations, procurement, supplier diversity and relationship management.  A 30-year energy, real estate, marketing and supplier diversity business professional, John’s passion is business and under his leadership, he has created numerous multi-million-dollar corporations.

In addition, Mr. Bettis’ experience ranges from sales, marketing, public relations, communications to entrepreneurial initiatives. John is actively involved in many charitable organizations. He has served on the boards of Family Services of Western PA, American Cancer Society’s Greater Pittsburgh Area, Lending Hearts, CareFirst Community Health Services, Strip District Neighbors, Chuck Sanders Charities and currently serves on the boards of the Pittsburgh Public Theatre, CNX Foundation, Heuer House, and The Jerome Bettis Bus Stops Here Foundation.

The CEO of M&A Resources & Integrserv LLC, former Pittsburgh Steelers Running Back is one of the best all-time running backs in the NFL (6th overall in rushing). Jerome Bettis was also the recipient of the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award in 2001, and had a Hall of Fame career and has been eligible since 2011.

2006 Super Bowl XL champion Jerome Bettis, one of the National Football League’s most popular retired players, the sixth best rusher of all-time and a six-time Pro Bowl selection. Currently Jerome serves as a Studio analyst for ESPN on all their main shows Sports Center, Number Never Lie, and NFL Live. He is also one of the most sought after corporate spokesmen for some of the largest Fortune 500 companies in this country.

“The Bus” finished his NFL career in January 2006 after 13 seasons, retiring immediately following the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 21-10 win over the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XL in his hometown of Detroit. Bettis ranks Sixth on the NFL’s all-time rushing list with 13,662 yards and is one of six players in NFL history to rush for 13,000 yards. He is one of only eight players in NFL history to rush for 1,000 yards for eight or more seasons. He ranks third in NFL history with 3,369 rushing attempts. Bettis was selected to the Pro Bowl six times, including his rookie season.

Bettis finished his college career at Notre Dame averaging 5.7 yards per carry and was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams 10th overall in 1993. He was named NFL Co-Rookie of the Year and also earned Sporting News Rookie of the Year and Rams MVP honors. Bettis followed the team in their move to St. Louis in 1995 before being traded to the Steelers prior to the 1996 season, where he spent the remaining 10 seasons of his illustrious career.

Diagnosed with asthma at age 14, Bettis is a tireless advocate for asthma education and awareness. Bettis founded and establish “The Bus Stops Here Foundation” in 1996 to help improve the quality of life for disadvantaged and underprivileged children. In 2002, he was named the NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year for his community involvement and work by his foundation.

Clay Cochran is an experienced energy industry executive with more than 20 years of leadership in operations, safety, and strategic growth. Based in Morgantown, West Virginia, Clay has built an esteemed career driving innovation, enhancing performance, and delivering results across every level of oil and gas operations.

As president of M&A Resources, Clay brings extensive knowledge to an organization committed to being a trusted partner to exploration and production companies. Under Clay’s leadership, M&A Resources has expanded its impact by delivering a comprehensive suite of essential services, including orphan well plugging, land restoration, compliance and safety solutions, logistics management, workforce development, and security operations, all while advancing a safer, more sustainable energy sector and fueling economic growth over the Appalachian Basin.
Clay’s impact in the field is backed by a strong track record. In 2020, he co-founded Next LVL Energy, a turnkey well plugging provider in the Appalachian Basin. His leadership helped establish the company as an environmental and operational leader, successfully plugging more than 500 wells and setting new standards for land restoration. After the company’s acquisition by Diversified Energy in 2023, Clay served as director, contributing to strategic direction and continued innovation. Prior roles at EQT Corporation, TK Stanley Inc., DeepWell Energy Services, and Monster Heavy Haulers sharpened his operational management skills and deepened his industry-wide network.

With a background in Business Administration from Southern Mississippi College, Clay combines technical know-how with a business-first mindset. He is committed to advancing M&A Resources’ mission to deliver innovative, reliable, and high-impact solutions that safeguard people, assets, and the environment.

Theresa Comisso

Theresa Comisso

Sales Director

Theresa joins M&A Resources as Director of Sales and Marketing, bringing more than 20 years of executive-level experience in sales and marketing, with the last 15 years dedicated exclusively to the oil and gas sector. A native of Follansbee, West Virginia, she holds a degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Sales Management from West Liberty University, and an MBA from Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio.
Theresa has played a key role in launching and scaling several successful startups in the Appalachian Basin, most recently at Next LVL Energy, which was acquired by Diversified Energy Company in 2023. Her ability to build trusted, long-term relationships has made her a go-to partner in the field. Passionate about the energy industry, she thrives on connecting clients with meaningful, value-driven solutions and makes doing business with her a straightforward, productive experience.
At M&A Resources, Theresa will lead the company’s sales and marketing strategy, focusing on expanding and nurturing a diverse portfolio of clients and services. When she's not fostering relationships or identifying new growth opportunities, she enjoys spending time in her garden with her dog Bella or cheering on her daughter, who is graduating from West Virginia University in May. Recently, she became a proud new member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
